1. Just You Wait. You'll See.
Alicia lifted the silver bodysuit and held it in front of her. It seemed, at first glance, way too small to fit her. But then no one seeing it for the first time could begin to expect just how much the material could stretch and contour the figure of the person who would wear it.
It hung limp and lifeless, dangling to a spot just below her waist.
"So," she said, "this is the invention that's going to change my life and make all my kinky fantasies come true."
I nodded. She rolled her eyes.
"It looks to me like just an excuse to get me in a tight body stocking." She grinned. "All you had to do was ask, you nerd. You didn't have to come up with such an elaborate scheme."
"Just you wait, Alicia," I said. "You'll see."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." As she spoke, she played with the curls at the edges of her brown hair that bounced on top of her shoulders. Even under the inside lights, the tangle of waves and loops glowed as if it had its own light source. That only made her dark brown eyes sparkle all the more. She wore a Ramones t-shirt and a pair of black bike shorts, neither of which did much to cover the ample "good fat" on her chest or the wideness of her hips and the equally "good fat" that gave her ass such a cute shape.
"Go change, and I'll show you how it works."
"I bet it works by me putting one leg in one side, then one leg in the other, and then jumping around while you ogle my bouncing boobs. Am I right?"
"Not even close, you little pervert." I yanked the outfit from her and turned the neck of it inside out. "Do you see this?" I asked, stroking my index finger along a darker silver, metallic strand interwoven with the lycra and latex. "That's the key to the magic of it. Not real magic, of course, but the tech that makes it work. Each of these strands is a conduit that contains millions of points that will poke into your epidermis and connect with your nerves."
"Oh," she interjected, snatching the suit from me again. "You sure know how to get a girl hot, using words like conduit and epidermis, baby."
I laughed. "Anyway, there are even more of these in the head covering. The nanobots they inject will make a connection with your brain, allowing you to experience all kinds of weird things you couldn't with just your human body alone. If I wanted, once you're inside the suit, I could rewire your senses so that you tasted with your fingertips and smelled through your feet if I wanted to. Or put your mind to sleep and send your body out for a five-mile run."
She stripped off her t-shirt as I spoke.
I walked to my desk and grabbed a metal tube that had a red light circling a track in the middle on the outside, like some sort of Cylon eyes from the 70s version of Battlestar Galactica, only all the way around.
"This is what will allow you to see in 360 degrees. Once you put on the suit, I'm going to turn off your normal vision -- your eyes would be covered anyway since there are no holes in the headpiece of the suit -- and then I'm going to connect your mind to the ocular receptors in this loop. You'll be able to see any way that little red light can face as it circles your head."
"Ooooh," Alicia said as her baby blue bra dropped to the floor on top of her t-shirt. "Cool."
"Not only that, but I'll also be able to basically Bluetooth your brain into our home network. You'll have access to the security system, smart house settings, Internet, whatever."
"Like Siri or Alexa?"
"Pretty much. But with a will of your own."
"Unless you turn that off or put me to sleep."
"Right. Unless I bypass that or put you to sleep."
I watched her strip out of the shorts and was shocked to see that she hadn't worn panties -- shocked and excited. She had cleaned up her pubic hairs and trimmed them into what I had heard her refer to as a "landing pad." All it was missing was an arrow at the bottom to indicate the direction of her promised land.
"And even then the suit would have control of your motor functions, oral and sensual capabilities, whether you're driving them or not."
"What's this?"
She stood naked before me, as lovely a blend of pale and tan as I had ever seen her. As I admired her, she fidgeted with a hard plastic circle sewn into the head covering.
"You noticed that, huh?"
She nodded.
"That's the speaker."
"The speaker."
"Yes, the speaker. You see, when you're in the suit, I'm also able to turn off your voice box. But with your brain wired to the suit, you'll still be able to speak."
She looked at me as if I had just tried to convince her the 1 plus 1 was kangaroo.
"Okay, okay. I'll explain." I laughed. "Oh, god. That look you just gave me."
"I'm waiting," she said with put-on agitation.
"That speaker will be your mouth when you're in the suit. There won't be any signals between your brain and your mouth or throat. Instead, the ideas will be turned into words and sent to that speaker."
"Wait?! You're serious?"
"Absolutely," I said with a smile.
I opened an app on my phone, touched a button and the suit's speaker spoke up, "Test Voice 1," it said in a deep male vibrato." Then I pressed the next arrow, and it used a higher-pitched male child's voice. "Test Voice 2."
"Whoops. Had it set for the male voices. Let me go to the female ones."
I pressed the button to change from male to female tones, and suddenly a generic female voice repeated the phrase. I pressed the button marked "personality" and instead of the words "Test Voice 2" the generic voice said instead, "My name is Sarah. Nice to meet you."
I pressed the forward arrow.
A new voice spoke up, a voice with a sort of deeper, more throaty voice like that of a late-night DJ. "My name is Valerie. Nice to meet you."
"That one's nice. I like that one."
I pressed through and skipped several others until I reached one called Alice. It spoke with a staccato rhythm as if it were searching a database for words, much like an early text-to-speech device. "My name is ... Alice. Nice... to meet... you."
"Perfect," I said. "That's the one I was looking for. It's so beautifully artificial, isn't it? Like I said, it's perfect for the robotic effect we're going for."
"I'll sound like an old PC."
"I know."
"Great," she said, frowning.
"Why don't you go ahead and get dressed? I'll go get a soda and give you some privacy."
"Like you've never seen me naked, Vince."
I just smiled, then I went out of the office to the kitchen and grabbed a diet soda from the fridge. Instead of taking it back to the room I sat at the breakfast nook and checked the progress on my phone via the app.
According to the app, she was already wearing the suit over her legs and waist. I watched as the silver outline covered the human shape on the screen up to the shoulders and then waited as the image indicated she had pulled the hood over her head and face.
Without waiting any longer, I figured I'd give her the surprise she'd been waiting for and I activated the suit. Just like that, at the push of a button on my phone, her body was under my complete control. I locked her mind out of control of her muscles and I knew without having to go check that she was standing stone cold still in the office until I decided to release her.
Just for fun, I did a search on the history of robotics on my browser and clicked the button to make her recite the websites verbatim in her monotone computer voice while she stood unmoving. I laughed at the idea that she was little more than a very beautiful female-shaped speaker at the moment.
When I finally returned to the room, I found her standing frozen beside my desk. Her legs were straight about shoulder width apart, and her arms were by her side, palms facing but not touching her thighs. It was the position I had programmed as Resting 001 in the bodysuit's instructions. Whenever she had no further instructions, she would resume this position and await any directions from the app or verbally from her primary user -- me.
I had one last surprise for her.
"Aiko-chan, stop speaking," I said.
Her speaker shut up and she was suddenly as quiet as she was still.
"It sounds like that android girl from the anime, right? I thought you might appreciate that. As long as you're in that suit, you're not Alicia. You're my personal home device, Aiko-chan. Just think of yourself as an Alexa with arms and legs."
I could only guess what she might be thinking because she didn't respond at all. Not that she could. No more than my laptop could get up and walk off of its own will.
I circled her several times and took in the almost metallic beauty of her silver form. More sculpture than living women now, I couldn't help but feel the heat and stiffness inside my jeans. I resisted the urge to touch her, to run my hands all over her available, helpless body.
Instead, I grabbed the vision device and placed it on her "bald," silver head. With the red light darting around her face and head, she looked far more robot than sculpture and even further removed from the idea of a human woman than just moments before. I selected the screen to activate her new 360-degree range of sight.
I gave her about a minute to get a feel for the new way of seeing. Then I pressed the button to let her speak freely.
"Weird way of seeing things, huh?"
"It is very weird," she spoke not from her mouth but from the speaker where her mouth used to be, her voice an almost fragmented and forced pretense of a human female. "Wait. Is that? Is that my voice?"
"Yes," I said, smiling. "That is your new voice."
"I sound like a robot."
"That's the point, Aiko-chan."
At the mention of her device name, the entire circle around her head lit up and she responded, "How may I serve you?"
"Why did I say that?"
"Part of the programming. Like Alexa, you respond to your device name."
"Wow."
"Aiko-chan, what is the current temperature outside?"
"At the moment, it is currently 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Would you like to have a seven-day forecast?"
"No thanks, Aiko-chan."
She was silent for a moment.
"I can't move," she said.
"No, you can't," I responded.
"Why not?"
"Because I haven't programmed you to move."
I pressed a sequence of buttons, and suddenly she started to dance the Hustle.
"Aiko-chan, what's the capital of Georgia in the U.S.A.?"
As she danced, she said flatly, "The capital of Georgia is Atlanta."
I laughed. She kept dancing.
"Please let me stop dancing," she said.
"You don't want to move?"
"Not like this."
"Oh," I said and pushed the red button on the app. She stopped and resumed the Resting 001 position. I fidgeted with a few other buttons to put her in "respond" mode for both actions and words.
"Now, this is the part I really love," I said, though she didn't respond. "Aiko-chan?"
"How may I serve you?"
"Open the 'identify user' program."
"Opening user identity database. Say 'Learn my name, Aiko-chan' at the tone."
Her speaker chimed, and I said, "Learn my name, Aiko-chan."
"Voice stored. What is the name to go with this voice?"
"Mr. Boss," I said.
If I wanted to see a reaction to the name, I didn't. She simply stated flatly, "Mr. Boss voice confirmed."
"Aiko-chan?"
"Yes, Mr. Boss?"
"I'm hungry."
"What would you like for lunch, Mr. Boss?"
"How about chicken-fried steak and steamed green beans?"
"Would you like me to use the recipe stored in the home inventory?"
"That would be perfect, Aiko-chan."
"Very well, Mr. Boss. I will make you chicken-friend steak and steamed green beans for lunch."
Immediately she left Resting 001 position and walked out of the room. I followed for fun.
"I can't stop myself. Why can't I stop myself?" she asked.
"Well," I started. "Imagine if an Alexa or a Siri didn't just talk you to but could actually do the thing you asked it to? That's the mode you're in now. Basically, you respond to voice commands."
We entered the kitchen and she went directly to the freezer for the frozen meat and the bag of veggies.
"Basically the suit hijacks your autonomic system and short circuits the link between your will and your body, except for those places I leave the link valid."
"Can you put that in English, please?" she asked as her body placed the ingredients on the counter.
I laughed. "You have your real will, that secret part of your brain, but it won't tell your body what to do now. Instead, voice commands and programming from the app serve as your primary will now. You do what they tell you because that's what your body believes it wants to do."
"And if I take off the suit?"
"Try."
Nothing happened except for her opening the drawers for a knife and reaching below the sink for a cutting board.
"I can't take it off."
"Because your programming doesn't tell you to. Right now, there are only two ways to take off the suit. One is for me to tell you to directly or sent a command through the app, and the other is for me to place you back in autonomous mode."
"Can you please put me in autonomous mode?"
"I've got a better idea." I pressed the button to turn off her voice control. Now she was completely at the whims of her programming.
"How long until lunch is ready, Aiko-chan?"
"Lunch will be ready in approximately 45 minutes, Mr. Boss."
"Thanks. I'll be in the living room watching some TV."
She nodded.
"Would you like me to serve your lunch in the dining room or in the living room?"
"The living room is fine."
"Very well, Mr. Boss."
